Monday saw us busy right up to the minute of “leaving”. There was lawn to cut, banking to do, a broken father to visit in the hospital, and then finally a congregational meeting that both J and I had to make presentations at. We left immediately after our presentations, with our dog who had waited patiently in the car in the parking lot, and drove to daughter J’s house in TO.
This morning we drove to Buffalo to catch our first plane and did the first walk of the pilgrimage, from the offsite parking lot to the airport terminal. A number of people offered us shuttle rides, but we politely told them that we really did want to walk.
This is all part of the journey. We are outside of our usual activities and seeing things through different eyes.
Really, at this point we are just getting a little tired of hurrying up to wait.
